Thermal Commercial Door and Frame

The thermal commercial door and frame is a ground floor treatment system developed for commercial newbuild and refurbishment projects.

It is perfect for high-traffic environments such as schools and commercial buildings, particularly where enhanced regulations and stricter security standards are required. Robust and cost-effective, the system also exceeds current building regulation requirements in thermal efficiency.

Features and benefits

With a focus on thermal insulation, the door and frame system is a high-performance solution that integrates seamlessly with other Kestrel systems, making it adaptable to a broad range of contemporary applications.

  • Thermal efficiency: High thermal performance with potential U values of 1.6W/m2K* for both single and double doors.
  • All-in-one solution: Full compatibility with the Kestrel thermal framing and window systems for a uniform design.
  • Slimline profiles: Minimise sight-lines while maintaining excellent thermal insulation all year round.
  • Multiple PAS 24 configurations available: Single and double door with multipoint or 2 x single point lock options, as well as single door access control and single and double door panic and escape hardware.

*Based on standard Ug 1.0 W/m2 k DGU, Ultimate spacer as per Approved Document L requirements. Values achieved using a centre pane unit of 1.0W/m2K.

Design options

With a triple glazing option for outstanding thermal insulation and a range of opening configurations, the thermal commercial door and frame system is an ideal solution for energy-efficient buildings that demand both durability and security.

  • Glazing options: Double or triple glazing, with insulating glass units and infill panels of up to 47 mm on the door and 32mm on the framing.
  • Multiple opening types: Doors can be specified and configured as inward or outward-opening, with centre pivot, auto swing or auto slide options.
  • Range of stiles, rails and thresholds: Options include EA compliant thresholds and anti-finger-trap stile.
  • Surface finishes: Mill finish, etched and anodised options are available with single and dual-colour surfaces to suit every design requirement.
