The White House is a bespoke new home nestled in the picturesque Yorkshire countryside. After winning the contract to manufacture and install the glazing for this project, Yorkshire-based fabricators, Glass Living UK Ltd, approached Kestrel Aluminium Systems to assist them in delivering a modern home with optimum views of the idyllic surroundings.

High quality, tight deadlines
The architectural concept featured high quality aluminium windows and doors with slim sight lines, not only to maximise the views of the glorious countryside, but also to allow natural light to flood into the brand new home. In addition to high quality, the client also required tight turnaround times in order to keep the build progressing to plan and avoid costly delays. Glass Living UK Ltd worked closely with their trusted aluminium supplier, Kestrel Aluminium Systems, to deliver the systems to specification and on time.
Coordinated look
Multiple windows were required with a mixture of fixed and opening vents. To ensure a uniform appearance, the fixed vents were made to the same dimensions as the doors. The Kestrel folding sliding door and rebate door systems were chosen, which utilise the same profiles and hardware for commonality of design throughout the rooms. All of the products installed achieve U values of 1.6 W/m2K as a minimum. This means the homeowners can be confident that their property is highly thermally insulated and energy efficient.
The beauty of bi-folds
The Kestrel folding sliding doors were specified with a flush track to offer ease of access to the outside and to create a cleaner, neater aesthetic. These doors are a particularly popular choice due to their versatile applications, including their ability to frame a view, open up walls, allow the outside in and create light-filled modern spaces. Installing French doors using the rebate door system offers a flexible approach to living as the homeowner can utilise both doors to gain access to the outside. When combined, the Kestrel systems perfectly complement the modern architecture of the newbuild to create a stunning, high-performance home.
